• Área Marina Protegida Namuncurá-Banco Burdwood I (zona de máxima protección: Reserva Nacional Marina Estricta / Parque Nacional Marino)marine reserve

  Argentina's first open-ocean MPA on the Burdwood Bank/Banco Namuncurá submarine plateau in the South Atlantic (created by Ley 26.875, 2013; adapted to the national MPA system, Ley 27.037, via Decreto PEN 888/2019). Coordinate is the centroid of the original core ('zona nucleo') box 54 15'-54 30'S x 59 30'-60 30'W, which sits within the present-day RNME/PNM total-prohibition sector.
