Filitheyo Kandu MPA (Faafu Atoll)

Filitheyo Kandu is a well-known channel dive off Filitheyo island in Faafu Atoll, gazetted as a Marine Protected Area (MPA, 167 ha) by the EPA under EPPA 4/93, decree 10-C/99/38, declared 21 Oct 1999. Spearfishing is prohibited nationwide (Section 12(a), R-75/2020); fishing inside this Ministry-gazetted MPA is separately prohibited (Section 12(b)).
