One of the seven officially designated marine conservation areas of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, listed by the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority. Established under the Fisheries Act (1986)/Wildlife Protection Act. Secondary cruising-law summaries note the east coast of Canouan is among the country's marine protected areas where fishing (including spearfishing) is restricted. Center point placed on Canouan island.

Visitors must obtain a fishing permit from the Chief Fisheries Officer in Kingstown before fishing. Spearfishing is forbidden to visitors regardless of permit.
