Northwest Pacific (Guanacaste) national park whose marine sector includes the Islas Murciélago (Bat Islands). The area is protected as a marine reserve within the national park and is closed to fishing; as a national park, sport and commercial fishing including spearfishing is prohibited under Ley 8436 Art. 9.

Present a valid ID/residency card/passport, a recent passport-size photo, the F.S.P.D application form, and proof of payment of the canon.
