Marine protected area off Saint-Louis (northern Grande Côte), approx. 496 km2 (49,600 ha), created 2004. Extractive fishing including spearfishing is regulated under the AMP management plan.

Apply to the competent services of the Ministry in charge of maritime fishing (Direction des Pêches maritimes). For sport fishing a vessel-based permit requires affiliation to a club/centre affiliated to the national sport-fishing association; the precise procedure and any shore-based recreational diving permit modalities are fixed by ministerial arrêté.
