Kif is-sajd bl-isperunar jiġi ttrattata f'Controlled zones within certain Marine Protected Areas.
Within some MPAs there are controlled areas where recreational activities such as angling or spearfishing may be permitted subject to the conditions of the MPA management authority. Permit holders fishing within an MPA must adhere to the conditions of the Management Agency for that specific MPA.
