Spear gun fishing is permitted in Saint Lucia's fishery waters provided the spearfisher holds written permission (a spear gun permit) from the Chief Fisheries Officer and is not using SCUBA or Hookah gear. Closed seasons and species protections still apply.

Apply to the Chief Fisheries Officer / Department of Fisheries using the spear gun permit application form (available via the Government of Saint Lucia services portal); processing time 3-5 business days. Permit subject to any conditions the Chief Fisheries Officer specifies.
