Lapakahi Marine Life Conservation District (Big Island, Hawaii)

Marine Life Conservation District on the northwestern coast of Hawaii Island adjacent to Lapakahi State Historical Park, about 12 miles north of Kawaihae (~146 acres, established 1979). Spearfishing and possession in the water of any device capable of taking marine life are explicitly prohibited. Only opelu by lift or net and finfish/crustaceans by hook-and-line or thrownet are permitted (Subzone B only).
