Marine nature reserve / OSPAR MPA on the Formigas bank and Dollabarat Reef, between São Miguel (~33 nm) and Santa Maria (~20 nm); part of the Natura 2000 Special Conservation Area and a Ramsar wetland, where any fishing activities including recreational/sport/spearfishing are prohibited.
