Was diese Zone ist

Überblick

Wie Speerfischen bei Howland Shoal and Emu Reef Reef Fish Protection Area, Northern Territory gehandhabt wird.

Reef fish protection area under reg 10A of the Fisheries Regulations 1992 (NT). Amateur fishing from an unregistered (i.e. recreational) vessel is an offence here, and it is a separate offence to have fish or amateur fishing gear on board such a vessel inside the area unless the vessel is under way — so a recreational spearfishing trip cannot lawfully be made here, and you may not even carry a speargun at anchor. Licensed commercial vessels are likewise excluded (with a narrow Off-shore Net and Line approval). The area is a rectangle west of Tree Point in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, taking in Emu Reefs and Howland Shoals.
