All recreational take, including spearfishing, is prohibited; the only take exceptions are scientific — collecting by University of California licensees, officers, employees and students under Fish and Game Code §10661, and persons authorised for scientific study by the Director of the Bodega Marine Life Refuge under Fish and Game Code §10502.7(b) (§§10656, 10903).
