Point Reyes Headlands Special Closure (California)

Year-round no-entry closure along the south face of the Point Reyes Headlands (Marin County), the largest of California's special closures at 0.67 sq mi. 14 CCR 632(b)(45) designates the band from the mean high tide line out to 1,000 feet seaward of mean lower low tide between due-south lines drawn from 37° 59.650' N 123° 01.000' W and 37° 59.390' N 122° 57.800' W, and subsection (B) states that no person may enter this area at any time except listed agency staff on duty or with department permission. The prohibition is on entry, so a spearfisher in the water is caught by it: no spearfishing anywhere in the band.
