Lighthouse Bay Special Purpose Shore Based Activities Area, Ningaloo Marine Park (Western Australia)

A 100 m-wide strip of water measured seaward from the high water mark along the tip of North West Cape at Vlamingh Head/Lighthouse Bay, off the Mildura wreck, running from 114º07.9667’E to 114º10.35’E. Clause 6(1) of the Prohibition on Recreational Fishing (Ningaloo Marine Park) Order 2005 (made by the Minister under s.43 of the Fish Resources Management Act 1994) prohibits all recreational fishing here; clause 6(2) restores only shore-based line fishing, a throw net for bait fish, and — in the Schedule 7 item 2 area alone — net fishing, in each case by a person not using or connected with a boat. Spearfishing is not among the restored methods, so a speargun, harpoon, gidgie or Hawaiian sling may not be used anywhere in this strip. Fines under the Act apply.
