Zona di Tutela Biologica «Area Tremiti» (Adriatico, a nord-est dell'arcipelago)

A permanent fisheries biological protection zone north-east of the Tremiti archipelago, established experimentally by the decree of 18 February 2004 and made permanent by the decree of 22 January 2009. Under art. 4 of the 2009 decree every form of professional, sport and recreational fishing, expressly including spearfishing, is banned in all ZTBs unless explicitly permitted; for the Area Tremiti the only sport fishing permitted is rod-and-line with at most five hooks per angler, so spearfishing is prohibited.
