Edward F. Ricketts State Marine Conservation Area (California)

The Cannery Row / San Carlos Beach dive area in Monterey, Monterey County (0.23 sq mi) — one of the busiest shore-diving sites in the state. Recreational take is permitted only by hook-and-line; commercial hand harvest of giant and bull kelp is separately capped at 12 tons a month from Administrative Kelp Bed 220. Spearfishing is prohibited, so this is a look-only site for divers.
