False Klamath Rock Special Closure (California) - closed 1 March to 31 August

Seasonal no-entry closure at False Klamath Rock, off False Klamath Cove north of the Klamath River mouth (Del Norte County). 14 CCR 632(b)(5) closes the band from the mean high tide line to 300 feet seaward of mean lower low tide ONLY during the period 1 March to 31 August; within that window no vessel may operate or anchor and no person may enter the band without department permission, so spearfishing inside the band is unlawful for those six months. Outside 1 March - 31 August the special closure does not apply, but the surrounding area may still be inside another MPA - check the CDFW map before diving.
