Vizcaino Rock Special Closure (California) - closed 1 March to 31 August

Seasonal no-entry closure at Vizcaino Rock, the sea stack off Cape Vizcaino between Rockport and Hardy on the Mendocino coast. 14 CCR 632(b)(18) closes only the part of the rock's 300-foot water band lying WEST of 123° 49.887' W longitude, and only from 1 March to 31 August; in that window no vessel may operate or anchor and no person may enter the band without department permission, so spearfishing there is unlawful for those six months. The seaward limit runs from the mean high tide line to 300 feet beyond mean lower low tide.
