A sport-fishing permit (permis de pêche sportive) is required for recreational/underwater fishing (Art. 18, 37).

The Minister in charge of Fisheries issues sport-fishing permits, with prior ministerial authorisation additionally required inside marine parks (Art. 57). Artisanal fishing authorisations/cards (a separate regime) are handled by the DGPA in Libreville.
