Coastal natural reserve on Maio island centred on the Cimidor lagoon and adjacent coast (southeast of the island), ~3.89 km². Part of the National Network of Protected Areas (Decreto-Lei n.º 3/2003); fishing/spearfishing restricted under its protective regime where it touches marine/coastal waters.

Apply to the Direcção-Geral das Pescas (or a delegated entity) with a licence application, identity document (or club/association registration), and, for renewals, the prior licence. Minors under 18 need notarised guardian authorisation. Fees set by joint ministerial portaria. Clubs, sport associations and tourism operators may hold licence quotas (Arts. 20.º, 22.º, 25.º).
