Clinton Wetlands Sanctuary Zone (SZ-1), Upper Gulf St Vincent Marine Park (South Australia)

No-take sanctuary zone of the Upper Gulf St Vincent Marine Park, declared under the Marine Parks Act 2007 (SA) and given effect by the Marine Parks (Zoning) Regulations 2012. Sanctuary rules prohibit removing or harming any plant or animal in the zone, so no fishing of any kind — spearfishing included — may be carried on there; the Department for Environment and Water's official zoning table lists spear fishing as not allowed in a sanctuary zone. Diving, snorkelling, swimming, boating and anchoring stay permitted, and a vessel may transit the zone. Note: part of this zone's shoreline is covered by a Special Purpose Area (Upper Gulf St Vincent SPA-6) in which shore-based recreational fishing remains permitted; check the park's zoning map before fishing from the shore here.
