Reserva integral de Esteiro (Reserva Marina de Interese Pesqueiro Ria de Cedeira, Galicia)

Integral reserve at the head of the ria de Cedeira off Esteiro, a five-vertex area of about 29 ha delimited by Decreto 28/2009 art. 3.1. Article 5 prohibits all maritime fishing, all extraction of fauna and flora and all underwater activity inside it, allowing only scientific sampling expressly authorised by the Galician marine-resources directorate. Spearfishing is completely prohibited - the surface recreational fishing and sport diving that art. 4 tolerates in the rest of the reserve do not extend to this area. Note on the map marker: the whole zone is intertidal - it is a tidal creek (an esteiro) at the head of the ria which drains at low water, so the marker sits on ground that the tide covers and uncovers rather than in permanently submerged water.
