Mljet National Park

Fishing is prohibited throughout Mljet National Park (Pravilnik o unutarnjem redu, NN 76/2000, Article 22). Licensed recreational angling is the only exception for visitors and Article 24 limits it to three hand lines with at most three hooks, while Article 28 prohibits any gear not listed there; the separate traditional-fishing gear list for residents (Article 29 — nets, up to 2 fish pots, hand lines, a longline of up to 200 hooks, gigs without light) likewise contains no speargun and ends with a prohibition on any gear not listed. Spearfishing is therefore prohibited park-wide by both routes. Recreational and traditional fishing are additionally banned outright in Malo jezero, Veliko jezero and the Soline channel (Article 22), Article 33 bans the taking of shellfish, urchins and other marine organisms, and Article 78 provides that underwater activities (diving) are not permitted in Malo jezero.
