Spearfishing is prohibited within 100 metres of fixed fishing gear (arts fixes) and nets, and of boats carrying out fishing operations.

Apply to the délégation des pêches maritimes of your region (issued by the chef de la direction de la marine marchande et des pêches maritimes or a delegated chef de quartier maritime). Requirements: be at least 18 (16+ with written parental consent), meet physical-aptitude conditions set by joint ministerial order (medical certificate), and hold third-party (liability) insurance.
