Includes no-take zones; fishing is restricted or prohibited within the marine zones, and dynamite/copper-sulphate fishing and illegal trawling are being eradicated. Spearfishing is not compatible with the protected/no-take marine areas.

Apply to the délégation des pêches maritimes of your region (issued by the chef de la direction de la marine marchande et des pêches maritimes or a delegated chef de quartier maritime). Requirements: be at least 18 (16+ with written parental consent), meet physical-aptitude conditions set by joint ministerial order (medical certificate), and hold third-party (liability) insurance.
