Within the Parks and Wild Life Estate (national parks, safari areas, recreational parks, sanctuaries, etc.) fishing is permitted only under a fishing permit or block fishing permit, and gear may be restricted to rod/hand line unless otherwise authorized. Stricter rules and zone closures apply inside national parks, so spearfishing is generally not freely permitted there without specific authorization.

Permits may also be obtained at national park offices and designated fishing hubs.
