Cirkewwa Voluntary Marine Reserve (P29 and Rozi wrecks area)

Conservation Area around the wreck and dive sites off Cirkewwa (P29 and Rozi), covering roughly a 200 m stretch. Spear fishing is prohibited, together with set bottom lines, trammel nets, gill nets and entangling nets, encircling nets, and demersal pots and traps; Off Cirkewwa is one of the five Conservation Areas from which the trolling-line (rixa) concession is withheld, so trolling is banned here too. Only vessels engaged in recreational or technical diving operations may enter or moor, after pre-notification to Valletta VTS on VHF channel 12.
