Contact and corrections

One form, three kinds of message. Everything sent here reaches the person who maintains the dataset.

Reporting a data error

The most valuable message we get. Tell us the country or zone, what the page currently says, and what the rule actually is — and, if you can, the instrument, the article number or a URL. A report that names its source can be checked in minutes; one that does not, often cannot be acted on at all.

Business and advertising

Dive shops, charters, schools and event organisers: use the form and say what you would like listed. Listings and advertising are how the site pays for itself, and they never change what the legal record says.

Everything else

Questions, missing countries, data reuse, press. If you are writing about a specific page, include the link to it.

What happens to a report

A legal correction is checked against the source you cite, or against the primary instrument if you cite none. If it holds, the country record is corrected at source — the map, the country page and the zone pages are all generated from that one record — and the change carries its own citation. If it does not hold, nothing is changed.
