Privacy & cookie policy

Last updated June 2026

Spearfishing Map is an informational reference. We collect as little as possible, never sell your data, and only run analytics with your consent. This page explains what that means in practice.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages divers find useful. Analytics cookies load only after you accept them in the consent banner — until then, no analytics or advertising storage is used (Google Consent Mode). You can change your choice at any time below.

Email alerts

If you subscribe to rule or season alerts, we store the email address and the topics you choose, solely to send those alerts. Subscriptions use double opt-in (you must confirm via a link), and every email includes a one-click unsubscribe.

Community contributions

When you submit a dive spot or a review, we store what you enter so a moderator can review it before it appears publicly. Don't include personal information you don't want shown.

What we never do

We never sell your email or personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising. Verbatim law texts and official sources are published as-is and contain no personal data.

Your choices

You can accept or decline analytics cookies at any time, unsubscribe from alerts with one click, and request removal of a spot or review you submitted by contacting us.
