The wreck lies inside the MNP04 Central Hervey Bay marine national park (green) zone — a no-take zone — and section 31 of the Marine Parks (Great Sandy) Zoning Plan 2024 additionally makes entry to the designated Ex-HMAS Tobruk area permission-only. Spearfishing is prohibited.
