How spearfishing is treated at Kent Group Marine Nature Reserve restricted-fishing zone (no spearfishing), Bass Strait, Tasmania.

The eastern, restricted-fishing half of the Kent Group Marine Nature Reserve, east of Murray Pass out to three nautical miles. Some fishing is allowed here, but only line fishing with up to five hooks and taking rock lobster with pots, rings or by diving — spearfishing is not among the permitted methods and the zone is flagged "No Spears" in the Tasmanian Government's own fisheries GIS. Taking abalone is prohibited for biosecurity reasons.
