Special Purpose Puerulus Monitoring Area (Boullanger Island, Tern Island, Whitlock Island and Osprey Island), Jurien Bay Marine Park (Western Australia)

A special-purpose management area of Jurien Bay Marine Park covering the water enclosed by Boullanger, Tern, Whitlock and Osprey Islands, between 30°18.550’S and 30°19.393’S. Clause 5(1) of the Prohibition on Recreational Fishing (Jurien Bay Marine Park) Order 2005 prohibits all recreational fishing here and clause 5(2) restores one method only — a fishing line. This is the strictest of the park's special-purpose rules: unlike the shore-based and scientific-reference areas it does not even allow shore-based abalone or rock lobster take. Spearfishing is prohibited. Enforcement is by DPIRD fisheries officers; a western rock lobster puerulus (post-larval settlement) monitoring site in the island group west of Jurien.
