No-take marine reserve in the southern Berry Islands (Frozen Cay to Whale Cay, includes Diamond Cay), part of the Bahamas national MPA network; designated a no-take area 29 Dec 2008, gazetted 2009. As a no-take reserve, all fishing and spearfishing are prohibited.

License requiredvia Department of Marine Resources (Department of Fisheries), Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources

Apply to the Minister/Director of Fisheries (Form 7); for vessels entering The Bahamas, application is made to the customs officer at the first Port of Entry. To use a spear, the applicant must request this on the permit application; when granted, the spear use is endorsed in writing on the permit by the issuing officer.
