Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Hutovo Blato Nature Park.

Cantonal protected nature park (founded 1995, IUCN Category III, Ramsar wetland since 2001) in the Neretva delta region of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, covering ~74 km2 of karst wetland and lakes (e.g. Deransko Blato). The area is managed for endemic fish protection; underwater fishing with speargun, spear or harpoon is prohibited under FBiH freshwater-fishery law (Art. 46(1)3).
