How spearfishing is treated at Baie de Loango Marine Protected Area (Loango Bay Community Marine Reserve).
Community marine protected area approved 29 August 2022 in Loango Bay on Congo's Atlantic coast, just north of Pointe-Noire (anchored on Pointe Indienne / Loango / Diosso). One of only two known sea-turtle (green and hawksbill) foraging grounds on the mainland Central African coast; ~500 km2 per WDPA. As one of Congo's first MPAs, fishing activity is restricted; spearfishing should be treated as prohibited within the reserve. Center point set near Pointe Indienne in Loango Bay.
