Serrana atoll, part of the Sección Norte of the Área Marina Protegida Seaflower, is within the no-take conservation zone (zona de conservación NO TAKE) created by Coralina's Acuerdo 002 of 28 June 2019 (amending Acuerdo 021 de 2005); Coralina's own reporting names Serrana as part of the enforced 'Sección Norte' No Take zone (together with Quitasueño and Roncador), where all extraction fishing including spearfishing is banned.
