Banco/cayo Quitasueño, the largest coral complex of the San Andrés-Providencia archipelago, forms part of the Sección Norte of the Área Marina Protegida Seaflower, designated a no-take conservation zone (zona de conservación NO TAKE) under Coralina's Acuerdo 002 of 28 June 2019 (amending Acuerdo 021 de 2005); all extractive fishing, including spearfishing, is banned there. Coralina has carried out enforcement/seizure actions against illegal fishing specifically in this No Take zone.
