Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Parque Nacional Natural Bahía Portete – Kaurrele.
Northernmost national park of mainland South America (La Guajira, municipality of Uribia, between Cabo de la Vela and Punta Gallinas; 14,080 ha), declared 20 December 2014 to protect Wayúu ancestral marine-coastal ecosystems (mangroves, coral, lobster, grouper/snapper nurseries). Industrial mining and fishing are expressly prohibited (per its Wikipedia entry); sport/spearfishing is likewise banned as with all National Natural Parks under Law 2 de 1959 (art. 13) and Decreto 1076 de 2015.
