Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Amathounta (Amathus) Marine Protected Area with Artificial Reef.

One of six DFMR Marine Protected Areas with Artificial Reefs established by Ministerial decree off Amathounta (Amathus Bay), east of Limassol. All fishing activities, including recreational and commercial fishing and therefore spearfishing, are prohibited; the area extends from the coast to a depth of 50 m. Coordinate is a representative center point off the Amathus coast.
