Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Parque Nacional Submarino La Caleta (La Caleta Underwater National Park).

The only fully marine national park in the Dominican Republic (~12 km2), ~20 km east of Santo Domingo, stretching from Las Golondrinas Cave to Punta Caucedo. Co-managed by Reef Check Dominican Republic. Under Art. 43 of Law 307-04, any fishing inside protected-area limits requires a Ministry of Environment permit; this is a no-take dive park where spearfishing is prohibited. Coordinates are the park center per Wikipedia (18 26 58 N 69 41 07 W).
