Marine protected area at Cap Lindlès in the daïra of El Ançor, west of Oran, classified as a nature reserve (national designation) in 2019. Total area about 59.15 km² comprising 16.32 km² terrestrial and 42.83 km² marine, with about 18 km of coastline; key zone for threatened species (Cystoseira, giant limpet/patella, brown grouper). Protected-area status restricts extractive activities including fishing.

License requiredvia Ministere de l'Agriculture, du Developpement rural et de la Peche (MADRP) / Directions de la peche et des ressources halieutiques (wilaya level)

Apply to the local fisheries administration (Direction de la peche et des ressources halieutiques of the coastal wilaya). The application file must include a medical certificate attesting physical fitness to dive and a civil-liability insurance contract for underwater fishing (Article 66, Decree 03-481).
