How spearfishing is treated at Réserve naturelle du Lac de Réghaïa (Réghaïa Lake Nature Reserve, Algiers).

Coastal wetland and marine nature reserve about 30 km east of Algiers on the Sahel algérois littoral, classified by Arrêté N°4959 of 15 August 2016; over 1,500 ha of which nearly half is marine, including beach, dune cordon and a marine zone. Ramsar Wetland of International Importance (site No. 1304). Protected-area status restricts extractive activities including fishing.

License requiredvia Ministere de l'Agriculture, du Developpement rural et de la Peche (MADRP) / Directions de la peche et des ressources halieutiques (wilaya level)

Apply to the local fisheries administration (Direction de la peche et des ressources halieutiques of the coastal wilaya). The application file must include a medical certificate attesting physical fitness to dive and a civil-liability insurance contract for underwater fishing (Article 66, Decree 03-481).
