How spearfishing is treated at Abu Minqar (Abu Monkar) Islands.
Low sandy/mangrove islands about 4 km off Hurghada, a named constituent of the Red Sea Northern Islands Protectorate declared in August 2006 under Law No. 102 of 1983 on Natural Protectorates. Egyptian marine-science literature lists 'Abu Monkar Island' as a no-fishing zone (Egyptian Red Sea fishing-zones map, ResearchGate fig1_46034001). Fishing including spearfishing is prohibited. Coordinates from the OpenStreetMap island feature (Juzur Abu Minqar); this is the Red Sea island off Hurghada, not the like-named Western Desert oasis.
