Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Reserva Marina de la Costa Nordest d'Eivissa-Tagomago.

Regional marine reserve (3,756 ha) along the northeast coast of Ibiza and the islet of Tagomago, established by Decreto 45/2018 (modified by Decreto 45/2024). Spearfishing (pesca submarina) and all non-specifically-authorized extraction of marine flora/fauna are prohibited. The reserve is bounded by coordinates including A: 38°59'34.80"N/1°33'39.60"E (Santa Eulària coastline) and D: 39°01'49.80"N/1°39'04.80"E (Tagomago vertex).

License requiredvia Competent fisheries authority of the coastal Autonomous Community (órgano competente de la comunidad autónoma del litoral)

Apply through the fisheries authority of the relevant coastal Autonomous Community (online or in person). A medical certificate of fitness for underwater/free-diving (issued by a doctor qualified in hyperbaric/underwater medicine), or a valid federation licence covering the medical, plus suitable accident insurance, is generally required. ID (DNI for citizens; NIE/passport for foreigners) and payment of the regional fee are needed.
