How spearfishing is treated at Reserva Marina de la Illa de l'Aire.

Regional marine reserve around the Illa de l'Aire islet off the southeast tip of Menorca, established by Decreto 26/2019 of 12 April. Spearfishing (pesca submarina) is prohibited; the reserve includes a special integral-protection zone where extraction of any flora or fauna is banned. The islet lies off the southeast corner of Menorca, with the reserve extending along the adjacent coast. Representative point at the Illa de l'Aire.

License requiredvia Competent fisheries authority of the coastal Autonomous Community (órgano competente de la comunidad autónoma del litoral)

Apply through the fisheries authority of the relevant coastal Autonomous Community (online or in person). A medical certificate of fitness for underwater/free-diving (issued by a doctor qualified in hyperbaric/underwater medicine), or a valid federation licence covering the medical, plus suitable accident insurance, is generally required. ID (DNI for citizens; NIE/passport for foreigners) and payment of the regional fee are needed.
