How spearfishing is treated at Reserva Marina de la Punta de sa Creu.
Regional marine reserve (1,059 ha) protecting the sea around the La Mola promontory at the eastern end of Formentera, established by Decreto 38/2018 of 16 November. Spearfishing (pesca submarina) and all non-authorized fishing are prohibited; the reserve protects extensive Posidonia oceanica meadows. The reserve lies in the interior waters of La Mola, between Punta de la Fernanda and Punta des Far. Representative point off La Mola headland, eastern Formentera.

Whether you need a license to spearfish here, and how to get one.
Apply through the fisheries authority of the relevant coastal Autonomous Community (online or in person). A medical certificate of fitness for underwater/free-diving (issued by a doctor qualified in hyperbaric/underwater medicine), or a valid federation licence covering the medical, plus suitable accident insurance, is generally required. ID (DNI for citizens; NIE/passport for foreigners) and payment of the regional fee are needed.
