Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Reserva Marina del Migjorn de Mallorca.
Regional marine reserve covering the southern coast of Mallorca (between Cap Blanc, Cap de Ses Salines and the Santanyí coast). Spearfishing (pesca submarina) is permitted with an individual annual authorization from the Direcció General de Pesca, on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, except inside the special-protection zone. It is one of only two Balearic marine reserves (with the Badia de Palma) where recreational spearfishing is explicitly authorized.

Whether you need a license to spearfish here, and how to get one.
Apply through the fisheries authority of the relevant coastal Autonomous Community (online or in person). A medical certificate of fitness for underwater/free-diving (issued by a doctor qualified in hyperbaric/underwater medicine), or a valid federation licence covering the medical, plus suitable accident insurance, is generally required. ID (DNI for citizens; NIE/passport for foreigners) and payment of the regional fee are needed.
