The Réserve naturelle des îles du Cap Corse, established by Décret n° 2017-426 (28 March 2017), covers 66 hectares across five islets at the tip of Cap Corse (Terra, Mezzana, Finocchiarola, Giraglia, Capense). Fishing is prohibited within 10 metres of the coastline of all islands, and all recreational and tourist activities are banned; the reserve is managed by the Office de l'Environnement de la Corse within the Parc naturel marin du Cap Corse et de l'Agriate.
