Gulf of Kalloni — seven declared underwater archaeological sites (Lesvos)

Seven named locations inside the Gulf of Kalloni — Mesitziki, Pyrra, Cape Makris, Skamnioudi, Apothika, Cape Agiou Pavlou and Nyfida — are declared underwater archaeological sites (item 6 on the Central Port Authority of Mytilene's prohibition register). Spearfishing is prohibited at those seven locations all year round under KYA ΦΕΚ 336 Β΄/2004 art. Α§2(δ). IMPORTANT: the ban attaches to the seven named places, NOT to the open water of the gulf as a whole; none of the seven is delimited by published coordinates, so this entry carries no map pin. Check locally before diving anywhere in the gulf.
