How spearfishing is treated at Turtle Harbour Marine Special Protection Zone / Wildlife Refuge (Utila).
North-coast Utila 'Zona de Protección Especial Marina Turtle Harbour–Rock Harbour' and Turtle Harbour Wildlife Refuge (Acuerdo Ejecutivo 142-2009, ratified by Decree 75-2010; Ramsar site 2134, WDPA 62052), part of the Bay Islands National Marine Park. The zone is managed with sub-zoned uses (industrial fishing and aquarium capture prohibited), and spearfishing is illegal throughout the Bay Islands marine park (licensed lionfish culling excepted).
