How spearfishing is treated at Flatey á Breiðafirði Nature Reserve (friðland).

Friðland covering eastern Flatey and the islets south of it, expanded and renewed by Auglýsing nr. 955/2021 (replacing nr. 395/1975); where it extends into the sea the protection expressly covers the seabed, biota and water column. All handling of firearms and all hunting/fishing (veiðar) are banned within the reserve, all access is closed 15 April–15 July, and landing from the sea is prohibited.
